The T-28 was a super-heavy tank of the USA, designed to withstand the German 88 mm armor with its up to 300 mm thick armor and to engage heavy German tanks with its 105 mm gun. It reached a top speed of 13 km/h. It had four tracks, the outer ones of which could be detached for rail transport. Due to its high weight of over 86 tons and its extreme width of 4.39 meters, it proved impractical for transport and combat, so only two prototypes were built. One prototype was damaged in a fire and subsequently scrapped; the other can still be seen in the USA today.

Since the tank never progressed beyond the prototype stage, the second M-28 A1/A2 kit represents a fictional variant as it might have been used.

The included instructions provide information about the tank’s history, show a tour around the still-existing vehicle at the Patton Museum, explain how to disassemble the outer tracks, and provide information about the restoration status as of 2020 and details of the collection at Fort Benning.
