Product Features:

The Largest Mics Ever on a Handy Recorder

The 19.4mm microphones capture audio with incredible frequency response, 140 dB max SPL, and an expansive dynamic range. Their increased size captures recordings with unmatched depth and fidelity.

F-Series Preamps, Now in Your Hands

The H5studio’s inputs feature our F-series preamps, giving your audio unmatched clarity (-127 dBu EIN). With dual AD converters and 32-bit float, they deliver an impressive 132dB dynamic range, capturing everything without noise or distortion.

Complete Control, Zero Clipping

32-bit float and 16/24-bit formats each have their advantages. 32-bit float prevents clipping but requires post-production. 16/24-bit eliminates the need for post-processing but requires gain adjustment to prevent clipping. The H5studio offers the best of both worlds with 32-bit float and dedicated gain knobs – no clipping and no need for post-production.

Six Tracks Up to 192 kHz

The H5studio captures up to six tracks (four iso-tracks plus a stereo mix) with sample rates up to 192 kHz.

Protect Your Sound

Carefully engineered RF shielding keeps interference from smartphones and Wi-Fi routers out of your recordings, anywhere you go.

Advanced Limiters

The H5studio features “advanced look-ahead” limiters which anticipate potential overloads and prevent distortion before it reaches your track.

The Inputs

The two locking XLR/TRS inputs support +48V phantom power and +4dBu line level. There is also a 3.5mm stereo jack with plug-in power.

Next Generation Capsule System

The H5studio’s 3.0 capsule system supports 32-bit float and gives creators more options to use the right mic for their recording.

Wireless Freedom

The WLM-1 (Available in 2026, compatible with Capsule System 3.0) is a dual-channel wireless system that comes with two transmitters and a receiver. The transmitter’s built-in microphone captures clear, balanced audio at volumes up to 130 dB SPL.

Waveforms & Levels

Monitor input levels with real-time waveforms on the full color LCD.

The Outputs

Headphone Out: Use the loud 20mW headphone output to monitor, or listen back to your recordings in any environment.

Line Out: Use the 3.5mm stereo LINE OUT to connect directly to a camera, easily syncing your audio and video.

Onboard Speaker: The built-in speaker has a maximum output of 250mW for previewing recordings on the spot.

USB Audio Interface

The H5studio is a 4-in/2-out USB audio interface for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android, supporting 32-bit float and 16/24-bit recording. Stream live and simultaneously record a backup to microSD.

Sync Smarter

The TCA-1 timecode adapter (sold separately) generates and outputs timecode or jams to an external clock. Thanks to its precision temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) it generates ultra-accurate timecode, staying within 0.5 frames over 24 hours. You can also receive wireless timecode from the ATOMOS UltraSync BLUE (TCA-1 or BTA-1 required).

Handy Control & Sync

With the ZOOM Handy Control and Sync app for iOS, you can remotely manage multiple Zoom recorders, control start/stop, and synchronize timecode effortlessly (BTA-1 or TCA-1 required).
